Sun Joe Electric Tiller Full Review, Buy #electrictiller

Welcome to Greenyarden, our budget eco-garden, this is our Sun Joe electric tiller full review. The Sun Joe electric tiller comes in a box that weighs less than 30 pounds, easy to assemble and the electric motor is under a plastic housing that is secured with four Phillips screws. This is the 13 and a half amp electric motor, there are different versions out there. There are six tines with four blades on them, that's the gearbox in the middle, connected to the drive shaft which is connected to the electric motor. There are two plastic wheels which do not look like a lot but we didn't have any problem with them and gave it a beating. There's a 3-way adjustable height setting, just pull back, you'll have to remove that strip to get wheels up, took a while to figure that out. There are four bolt with plastic caps and it was suggested online to put hose clamps around the rod assembly, we did not deem that necessary at all, held well throughout testing.

VLOG S1 EP1 Winter Progress -- Winter Flowers, Camelia & Yard #camelia

VLOG S1 EP1 Winter Progress -- Winter Flowers, Camelia & Yard #camelia

Welcome to greenyarden,  our budget eco-garden, this is our vlog, "Winter Progress". Back here looking at a Camelia
which grows in all of this unkempt thicket at this house we bought. Camelia is also known as the winter rose.
Camelia is also known as the winter rose

Here is a wisteria, also pretty, but it's choking that big pecan tree. The azaleas are okay but they're full of thorns, Red doesn't care about that, he's just happy to be fed and warm. If I zoom in I can look past that thorns and enjoy the beauty of this flower.
pruned a crape myrtle
It's been a busy winter, we cleared this bamboo section, took a long time. We also pruned a crape myrtle out front. I'm standing here looking at these azalea's in this strip next to the driveway, they're nice but they're pretty old and tired. In the southwest corner this is the thicket there's a Hackberry tree, Sabal palm, dead tree, camellia, pecan, and plenty of bamboo which needs to be removed. We got rid of this
section of bamboo and we want to put a flowerbed there and then we thought we could leave a lot of this here and make
it a woodland garden. Why not? There's a lot to work with and we always wanted a woodland garden and it would
just be grass otherwise.

We have this water source that we found, basically found this pipe coming up with a spigot, and yes it has water, and as we would find bricks during our excavations we would stack them around the pipe and they evolved into this temporary
fountain, if you will, and sometimes I let the water trickle down and just enjoy it. It doesn't have to be perfect or
finished and nothing happens overnight. Generally these projects, anyone I know with a garden, they've worked years on it, and sometimes that never ends, they always add to it. That's always happened with us. We even found this planter at the bottom, stuffed a reed in the hole and made it a birdbath and they stand on the rock and take a bath. So I can stand here and enjoy this today, don't have to be bothered by the thorns, and everything's not done, this is not Yard Crashers! So please like, comment, subscribe if you dig this and tell me what you've got going on in your garden, and as always, keep it green!

Supermoon "Worm Moon"

Supermoon "Worm Moon"

Why Is it Called the Worm Moon?
This full Moon traditionally goes by the name Worm Moon, which refers to the fact that earthworms and grubs tend to emerge from their winter dormancy at this time of year, marking a sure sign of spring! Read more about March’s traditional Moon names below.
Supermoon "Worm Moon"

Super Worm Moon: The First Supermoon of the Year

This full Moon will also be the first of three supermoons in 2020—the other two occurring on April 7 and May 7. Thanks to its supermoon status, this year’s Worm Moon has been named the Super Worm Moon!  Let’s just hope that the worms don’t take that to heart.

“Supermoon” is the popular nickname given to a full Moon that coincides with perigee, which is the point in the Moon’s orbit of Earth where it’s closest to our planet.

While at perigee, the full Moon appears a bit brighter and about 7% larger than a typical full Moon. However, don’t go out on the night of March 9 expecting to see a Moon that’s noticeably more massive. Unless you were to see them side by side, the differences between a supermoon and a regular full Moon can be very difficult to perceive!

How to Remove Bamboo Permanently, Kill Bamboo No Spray or Roundup #removebamboo

How to Remove Bamboo Permanently, Kill Bamboo No Spray or Roundup #removebamboo

Welcome to greenyarden in our budget eco garden, this is how to remove bamboo. This is a very tall bamboo in the backyard of the property that we bought, it's known as giant cane, the Latin name is arundinaria gigantea and it's one of three native u.s. bamboos. We'll be working in the section next to the sweetgum tree and a fence. The southwest corner by the back street is quite overgrown with bamboo but first we'll be working in this section.
Remove Bamboo Permanently
We're using a six amp reciprocating saw and a 50 foot, 12 gauge cable so if we look at the chart the gauge is 12 and 50 feet so that provides up to 15 amps so we're covered for the 6 amps. We have an all purpose wood blade, also some special pruning blades to get down deep in the roots and rhizomes of the bamboo, safety gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection.
Kill Bamboo No Spray or Roundup
I cut above or below the node on this bamboo because the node is solid so it's easier to cut it in the hollow section. It's important to have a process so while I'm down here I want to cut the bottom sections of as many pieces of bamboo as possible. We noticed red ants formed a colony inside one of the split sections of bamboo. Here's the last section of cuts, the roots and rhizomes are very deep and solidly embedded in this sandy soil, about nine to twelve inches deep. Know the locations of buried lines, power, cables, sprinklers etc or call the utility company, maybe ask a neighbor if they know anything.
how to remove bamboo
We're using a special pruning blade because it's extra long and really sharp and you can either go around the sections of the bamboo roots and rhizomes and cut them out piece by piece. We found that a little bit at a time works best. But of course it's not as easy as it looks and I just had to stay persistent. I am screeding the soil with a two-by-four in our very sandy soil so it's fairly easy to screed and level. I hope you enjoyed our video of how to remove bamboo with no spray or Roundup and please like comment and subscribe if you dig this, and as always keep it green!

How to Prune a Crape Myrtle

How to Prune a Crape Myrtle

Welcome back to Greenyarden in our budget eco garden!
Prune a Crape Myrtle
Today we're pruning a Crape myrtle. This Crape myrtle is covered by Spanish moss and it overhangs the sidewalk, sometimes too low. It gets its moss from a neighboring Sweetgum tree which is on city property. We're using a reciprocating saw today and some special pruning blades. I first remove some low limbs then climb up and get to work.
Crape myrtle is a fairly hard wood and even with the new blades it takes quite a bit of work to cut. The wood is hard and very flexible so it's rare to have one damaged during a storm.

I work the saw back and forth and it's dulling the blade quickly because the wood is so strong. I was able to climb the tree using the crotch of the limbs. At this point it felt very high up as I was about 20 to 25 feet in the air. Crape myrtles are not indigenous to America, they came here around the year 1790 in Charleston.

Prune a Crape Myrtle

And here we have our finished product! This looked like an art sculpture piece to us and we called it our "artwork". Two months later this is what it looked like and six months later it was in full bloom on top down. We hope you enjoyed this segment of cleaning up this Crape myrtle, please check out our other videos and like and subscribe. Thanks and keep it green!

Greenyarden Organic Eco Garden

organic eco garden

Welcome to greenyarden, our budget organic eco garden. This channel is about planting, propagation, and design. We'll do some before, during, and after projects as well as some plant studies, sometimes even drawing an illustration. We'll visit the woodland section, plant from seed, but also have the occasional store-bought plant. We'll cut down a tree, show off some garden accents. and we'll make some improvements to enhance the eco garden. We'll do some reviews and it all happens at our Greenyarden home we bought sight unseen over the Internet while living a thousand miles away. We got a good deal on it and when we arrived no wonder-- it was completely overgrown and needed a lot of work but an added benefit it was only two miles from the ocean. We've always wanted to live at the ocean but truth be told most of the time we're in the eco garden. We'll also check out wildlife like our friendly squirrel and we will highlight local weather events. We also have hurricanes here so that gets quite interesting. We have a lot of pet rescues and sometimes we'll just relax and enjoy a good sunset but most of all this channel is about working in the organic eco yard-garden, the "yarden", and improving it without using chemicals.
